A 30-Year Project?
From a May 12th NL Day editorial, on the Coast Guard Museum proposed for Ft. Trumbull:
The bad news is that Mr. Joplin says it will probably be five years, or more, before visitors step foot in the museum. Real progress, he says, comes slowly.
While everyone is anxious for construction on the Fort Trumbull peninsula, Mr. Joplin says the master development plan for the site has always been a 30-year-project.
Now, I am not as smart as any of the good folks who run our city, whether they be elected officials or unelected, nonresident property developers like Mr. Joplin. But I do try to keep abreast of events here in New London, and this is certainly the first time I’ve heard the Ft. Trumbull redevelopment referred to as a “30-year project.” Am I wrong?
In other Ft. Trumbull news, Lt. Gov. Mike Fedele has promised to address the NLDC’s recent request for additional state funding in his upcoming live-blogging session at CTLP.
